Why choose me over other Life Coaches?
Training and experience make a big difference in achieving your goals and achieving them more quickly.
Don't waste your time and money on pop psychology, or the latest fad influencer. Put my experience and the proven technology of Applied Behavior Analysis to work for you.
Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA) is the gold standard of science-based behavior change technologies, used to effectively change even the even most difficult and treatment resistant behaviors in the most challenging clinical populations with high success rates.
But does ABA work for typical individuals to increase goal related behavior and reduce unwanted habits?
The answer is a resounding yes! Over 50 years of research indicates that ABA is highly effective for changing a wide variety of habitual behaviors. I have helped many clients change their eating habits, increase exercise, improve their relationships with their children, co-workers and significant others, get more done at work and home, and make meaningful changes to overcome other challenges and achieve many goals.
But hasn't ABA been around forever?
Today's ABA has evolved far beyond its beginnings in the 1960s. But the fact ABA has been around a long time is good, because it has been constantly improving and growing through research and practice for over 50 years. Today's ABA includes many new methods that allow faster and more effective behavior change than ever before.
Doesn't everybody already know how to do behavior change?
It seems simple, but it can be VERY complex. I thought I knew a fair amount about behavior change after taking a graduate class about it in my first master's degree in counseling, but after completing a second master's degree consisting of eight graduate classes specifically on ABA, I realized I was only beginning to understand how to design effective behavior change programs. To better understand the complexities, subscribe to my Next Level Lifehacks newsletter to get tips on little known behavior change facts, strategies and methods.
Why is ABA effective?
A useful analogy to understand why ABA is so effective is that our brain operates a lot like a horse and rider.
The rider represents our upper brain, the seat of our goal directed thinking. The horse represents our unconscious lower brain drives and urges. The horse is in direct control of where the two are going!
However, if the rider trains the horse well, it will take the rider where she wants to go. On a well-known trail, the horse will take the rider to the destination, even if the rider falls asleep! That is the power of developing good habits.
In life coaching, ABA is the most effective method to use our conscious upper brain to successfully train our unconscious lower brain and body to engage in the goal related behaviors that will help us live our values and achieve success in our endeavors.
Let's put the power of ABA's proven approach to work for you. We will build a plan together to help you live your values and achieve your dreams.
